My First Mermaid

BEHOLD! The first artistic wonder in my long quest to achieve artistic wonderment, now in all its hi-def awfulness! Truth be told, this is a redrawing of that special wonder because the original was thrown away; apparently, even 6-year-olds can know when they suck at drawing.  

Couple of days ago I told the start of my 'Art' story in a journal    What's Your 'Art' Story?I ask that because I've been curious lately; curious about you guy's personal "Art" journey. Even if you're not an artist yourself and just an appreciator of a particular craft; in that case, what drew you to that medium?
My story probably started when I was a little kid and I had gotten Disney's The Little Mermaid on VHS in one of those big white plastic video cases. Back then Disney would always show a behind-the-scenes preview with the animators before the feature film and I could remember thinking 'Wow! I wanna do that'. So, I tried drawing (from memory) that scene where Ariel's on the rocks and the wave splashes behind her as she's singing "Part of your WOOOOOOOOOOORLD" and came up with this masterpiece.

Upon finishing, I reflected on what I saw from the movie and had one and was pleased to read many more from other members. If every journey begins with a single step and every story begins with a single word, then this little piece of otherworldly monstrosity was mine. It changed everything for me and I'm thankful for it. So for those of you that think your art sucks now, don't throw it away because it may just put you on the path towards something better.
